XIV. I Know
Yamah quietly walked down the sidewalk through one of the busiest commercial districts in Tokyo while listening to some music in his portable mp3 player. Not even the people around him could disturb his pleasant mood at that moment. He felt amazingly tranquil and in high spirits after talking with his respectable teacher, Yamada-sensei. He was a ‘cool’ teacher, and one of the first people Yamah had felt truly grateful for. Yamah was so immersed in his thoughts he didn’t notice he was being followed by a rather familiar character a few steps away from him.
I can’t wait to see Eiji again, the white haired boy had thought many times with a soft smile, as he drew near the hotel where they were staying. Now he would make sure to spend the most time possible with his brother, and maybe have a more interesting ‘contact’ between them. He felt full with confidence, and nothing could make him doubt about his feelings again.
After that long walk, Yamah finally arrived at the hotel and pushed the single crystal door open and entered the building.
Meanwhile, the stalker quickly grabbed his cell phone from one of his pants’ pockets. He pushed some numbers and placed the mobile device near his ear. “He stopped. I’ll give you the address…” the punk-looking guy said with a low voice.
“Eiji, I’m ba…”
Yamah could barely finish his sentence before his twin rammed him into the nearest wall. The brunette looked real upset, his golden eyes staring at him with rage and disappointment.
“How could you leave like that?! Are you crazy?” the agitated brunette stared at Yamah with teary eyes. “And what the hell is this?!” Eiji showed the little note that Yamah left for him on the nightstand. “It says: I’ll be right back, don’t be worried… this is a STUPID note” the young brunette finally said with anger in his voice as he crumpled the piece of paper in his hand.
“Oi! I did come back, didn’t I? You don’t have to be so…” Yamah tried to explain while he attempted to part Eiji’s hands from his neck.
“Oh, shut up” Eiji said while moving back from his confused brother to sit down in the nearest bed, fixating his stare in Yamah’s platinum eyes. “You could have at least told me where you were going… I was so worried you could be in danger”, the brunette said in a more tranquil manner.
“I’m sorry, Eiji…” Yamah got closer to his brother, sitting beside him. “I just went back to the school dorms to get some clean clothing and other stuff,” the white haired boy made an attempt to calm his brother’s nerves down, “I should have told you, but I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately. I’m truly sorry and I promise I won’t do it again.”
“…I’m sorry for almost trying to choke you” Eiji said after a moment, smiling to his brother with content eyes.
“Hey, no problem! I mean, I deserved it after all” Yamah responded with a huge smile. Eiji couldn’t stop himself from hugging his brother that was now safe and near him once again. The other boy hugged him back, pleased to smell the exquisite scent from his twin brother’s brown hair once again.
“Well, I think that now it’s my turn to take a shower” the white haired youth said as he stood up from the bed and opened his bag to grab some fresh clothes.
“Ok!” Eiji replied with a cheerful voice, while resting on the bed. “Let’s go have some lunch after you finish” the brunette suggested.
“Sure! I’m starving!” Yamah responded with a soft smile as he slowly closed the bathroom door.
The white haired youngster quickly got undressed, and turned the water knobs of the shower until the temperature of the water got warm enough for his sensitive body. He carefully placed his bare feet over the empty bathtub, receiving the warm water on his face and letting the clear liquid gently travel down his body. Yamah let out a sigh as he felt the refreshing water cleanse his skin and silvery hair. He closed his eyes in an almost drowsy way due to the pleasant feeling.
I needed this so much, the young man thought. When compared to the last few years, he had never been this relaxed; but there was a good reason why he felt this way now. He was not alone anymore. Yamah thought of his brother, feeling utterly blissful for being with Eiji once again. They had much to talk about, much to share, much to experience together… to experience together, the white haired boy deepened that thought. Now he realized how much he needed his brother, in both body and soul.
As he continued bathing himself, the thoughts of him and Eiji being together as one haunted his craving mind. I will be with him soon enough, and no one will be able to stop us now, Yamah thought, longing for that precious moment with his brother now more than ever.
After several more long minutes, Yamah finally finished his shower. He dried his body with one of the white towels offered by the mid-class hotel, and then continued to dress up. While he was dressing, he could hear the door of their room being knocked on several times. Who could that be?, the youngster questioned himself, perhaps Eiji decided to call for the room service?
Yamah could barely hear the voice of a man, but it was not Eiji’s voice that he was hearing. The voice was strangely familiar, but he couldn’t recognize it at the moment. After several seconds had passed, Yamah could hear Eiji’s own voice become irritated and displeased.
“Get the hell away from here”, the white haired youth clearly heard Eiji say that. In that moment, he heard a dry thump, as if one person had just being pushed against the wall. He could hear Eiji struggling, his voice called for Yamah with obvious desperation.
“Eiji! What’s wrong…?” the youngster hastily came out of the bathroom, now fully dressed, and whom he saw at that moment was someone he never thought he would see again this soon.
“Well, well, the school moron is here too… I was wondering if you had also escaped from me” the ash blonde expressed with real amusement in his voice while grabbing Eiji’s neck tightly with his strong arm and keeping the brunette’s back against his chest.
“Kurumada…” Yamah softly pronounced the martial artist’s name with disgust.
“In person” the blonde replied with delight, still tightly grasping the brunette who was trying to get free from Kenji’s karate grip.
“What are you doing here?” Yamah coolly asked.
“I just came to get my most prized possession back” Kenji answered with a smirk. “You see, this bitch here thinks he can get away from me easily, without me being truly satisfied of his services”.
“Your bitch…?” Yamah asked, now extremely upset, “What the hell are you talking about?!”
“Oh… didn’t your friend here tell you? Interesting…” Kenji responded with an evil glow in his dark blue eyes, his free hand traveling down Eiji’s body until it reached his crotch, grabbing it firmly and making the brunette release a soft moan. “Eiji here… is my whore”.
Yamah’s face paled. His eyes were now focused on Kenji’s hand over his brother’s body, as he tried to digest the information given to him by the blonde man. He couldn’t understand it at first, but after a second he realized it explained a lot of things. “Eiji is… what?”
“Don’t listen to him, Yamah!” the brunette exclaimed, trying to calm his brother down.
“I want him back… in fact… I want him now” Kenji replied while licking Eiji’s left ear with malice.
“Don’t touch him!!” Yamah shouted angrily. His eyes started to become humid as a result of all the shocking emotions he was experiencing.
“Why not?”, the blonde asked with confusion in his eyes. “Don’t tell me you… also pay for him? Ha ha ha!”
“I don’t pay for his attentions, unlike you...” the white haired youth replied threateningly, “I… I love him!”
The atmosphere was filled with silence after those words came out of Yamah’s mouth. Both Eiji and Kenji stayed quiet and surprised, but the brunette was absolutely stunned.
“Don’t be stupid… how can you love this man-whore?” Kenji replied recovering his confidence, still not letting Eiji go.
“Don’t call him that again…” Yamah murmured with shadowy eyes, his platinum stare as piercing as knives.
“I will call him whatever I like!” Kenji retorted quickly, obviously loosing his temper. Eiji felt the blonde’s arm loosen a bit, and immediately took advantage of the situation by slipping under his grip to free his body. The brunette pushed Kenji’s heavy body against the wall with impressive strength, throwing him out of balance and making him fall to the ground.
“Yamah, let’s go!” Eiji shouted to his brother as he grabbed his backpack and placed it behind his back. But his brother wouldn’t react to his voice; Yamah was still too shocked, and unable to move. The brunette quickly grabbed the other teenager’s wrist and pulled him, making him wake up from his traumatic trance.
“Let’s go!” the brunette shouted once more, noticing Kenji was already standing up. Yamah suddenly reacted and gave the blonde a low kick to his ankle, making him fall once again.
“You fucking brat!” Kenji yelled while quickly trying to stand up again. Yamah had already left the room with Eiji, but not without first grabbing his travel bag which was still filled with his belongings.
The blonde tried to follow them both without success. It seemed that the two other young men had already left the building and disappeared at an amazing speed. Kenji cursed his bad luck, sitting over the sidewalk with anger. Slowly, another person approached him and sat right beside the blonde.
“Back luck, Kurumada” the young, smoking man with lots of facial piercings said with a smirk.
“Shut the fuck up, Kobayashi” Kenji replied in an irritated tone. “I will get him another time… he can’t escape from me that easily.”
“Whatever you say, chief”, the punkish-looking guy said while putting out his cigarette and standing up later. “Do you want me to get him for you?”
“Yes… but I suggest a slight change of plans” the blonde answered before walking away from the other young man.
The brunette stopped running and leaned his body against a brick wall in a lonely alley. While trying to recover his breath, he cautiously stared outside of the alley to make sure that Kenji wasn’t following them anymore. He felt relieved when he saw no trace of the blonde, and he then approached Yamah who was resting his inclined body over his knees.
“I think we are safe for now” Eiji said with a soft smile to his brother. His only response was one of Yamah’s piercing, platinum stares. He was without doubt very mad, and who could blame him for feeling that way after what was revealed minutes ago in that hotel room. “Let’s go, Yashiro…” the brunette tried to grab Yamah’s shoulder, but the other boy instantly rejected the hand.
“Don’t touch me…” Yamah said in an angry tone while glancing at his brother’s eyes, who immediately looked at the concrete ground in shame.
“Yashiro, I… “
Yamah instantly interrogated his brother; “How could you not tell me? How could you hide it from me?!”
“I didn’t want you to know!” Eiji replied, knowing how much it would upset his brother. Unfortunately, it was too late and all he was able to do now was try to explain himself in practical words. “I… was going to tell you this morning but…”
“…it was difficult to explain? When were you going to tell me anyway? I guess now is your chance, especially because Kurumada just spilled the beans!” the upset teenager shouted in response. “I was always trying to figure out what kind of ‘job’ you had, you know? I thought of unimaginable things, one of them being a drug dealer of some sort… but it really saddens me you happened to be a… a… how the fuck were you be able to bring yourself to sell your body for dirty money!?”
“You wouldn’t understand” Eiji immediately replied, his face hung low as he let out a deep sigh.
“How dare you say that…” the white haired youngster said with resentment, while grabbing his twin brother’s shirt “How dare you say that to me when you didn’t even try!”
“I felt alone, ok!?” the brunette quickly answered, a single tear escaped from his golden eyes and Yamah stared at him with an astounded expression as if he didn’t understand what his brother tried to say. “I… I felt the need to be with someone, no matter what. It became a bad habit, a habit that I was regrettably beginning to like. It felt so good to be needed in that way…”
“You idiot! How could letting him abuse your body feel good?! I know how it feels to be alone… but that didn’t make me do the things you did!” Yamah kept pressuring the brunette, he wanted more answers from him and he wanted them now. Eiji was almost at the verge of tears, truly ashamed for the first time of his prostitution.
“I missed you so much; I thought doing this would help me forget my need for you…” Eiji whispered softly, almost sobbing to his brother. “When I first met you at the NPHS and see that you didn’t recognize me, it made me feel both angry and sad at the same time. Then I met Kenji…”
“Stop it!” Yamah interrupted, “I don’t want to hear anything about the two of you!”
But Eiji was not about to stop; “After a while,” the brunette continued, ”I realized that offering my company for money to other people is something that I truly disliked. It only increased my longing for you, Yashiro. That’s why I had to find you and now that I finally did, it looks like you only feel disgusted by me!”
“You damn right I’m disgusted!” Yamah snapped back, “And all that money you earned from it, especially from him, makes me feel even sicker!” He released Eiji from his grip, and walked to the other side of the alley.
“But I’m not sorry…” the white haired boy could barely hear his brother muttering those words that made him turn his face back. “I’m not sorry, because the reaction I got from you makes me believe you still care for me. I don’t want to be with Kenji or anybody else anymore, I want to be with you, Yashiro! Because I love you too!”
Yamah just stood there silently, staring at his brother that had finally released his feelings for him. Nothing could ruin his bliss in that moment, not even all that Eiji had confessed about his terrible job could bring his joy down. But he didn’t want to show his contentment to Eiji just yet. He decided that he should be strong until they had finally comprehended what they truly felt for each other. Yamah sighed deeply and leaned his body against the cold wall.
“Yashiro…?” Eiji softly pronounced his brother’s name; he was too calm now that it made the brunette feel uncomfortable.
The white haired youngster slowly stared at his watch. It was already becoming late and his hungry stomach was begging for food again. Yamah grabbed his travel bag and placed it over his shoulder and started to walk away from the brunette as he exited the dark alley.
“Where are you going?” Eiji asked to his brother in a concerned voice, not sure if he should follow him or not.
“To get some lunch.” Yamah replied in a serious tone. He continued walking away, but Eiji didn’t follow him. The white haired youth stopped momentarily and turned his head around, looking at Eiji over his shoulder. “You are welcome to join me”.
The brunette boy showed a nervous smile at his brother’s unusual invitation. He didn’t know if Yamah had already forgiven him or if he was just trying to contain his anger, but he decided to follow him. After all, he didn’t want to lose him again. It had been his goal to be with his brother in the first place. Eiji followed Yamah cautiously, walking behind him with slow steps. He didn’t want to upset his brother anymore, so he tried to be as quiet as possible. Both boys disappeared into the crowded streets of Japan and searched for a place to eat and later, a safer place to spend the evening.
