This is an alternate universe (AU) fiction, based on the Project: Unigenitus main characters. It can also have some small appearances of characters from other of my stories. Nothing written on this story can be related to PU, except for some character behaviors and names.

VIII. Teenage Angst

Yamah stood up from his seat after hearing the irritating sound of the school bell. Grabbing his suitcase, he walked towards the exit of the classroom. It was finally Friday and he would be able to spend his free time at the basketball court, just like past years. He wouldn’t mind spending time with Eiji either, but it was just that he wasn’t brave enough to admit he enjoyed the brunette’s company.

“Oi, Yamah” the voice of the brunette called him from behind.

“Hm?” the silver haired boy stopped and turned his head around to see Eiji approach him with long steps.

“Where are you going with such haste?” Eiji asked, as he began following Yamah, exiting the classroom. The youth just shrugged, not answering his friend’s question.

“Oiii, wait for me guys!”

“Ah, Koji-kun” Eiji responded with a smile as he saw the blonde run towards them with his typical smiley face.

“Where are you going?” Koji asked both boys, walking through the main corridor of the school.

“Home I guess” the brunette answered pointing with his eyes at Yamah as the trio exited the building. Yamah was still very silent, not even trying to follow the conversation, acting as if he were alone.

“Waaa, I just hope this weekend won’t be boring like last one” Koji commented as he remembered he didn’t do anything interesting last weekend, besides watching a movie on TV and eating pizza with Brayden’s company.

Eiji smiled a bit before he returned his attention to Yamah. It appeared that the other boy was lost in some other kind of universe, perhaps immersed in his thoughts as usual. They kept walking until they reached the Aldrich tower, their dormitory building. As soon as they opened the opaque crystal door of the building, Shirô and Alex came out.  Apparently they had skipped class today, which wasn’t much of a surprise.

“Aaaah… just the man I wanted to see” Shirô enthusiastically said, followed by a truly serious Alexander.

Yamah frowned at the mere sight of Shirô. He was about to leave, but then the brunette placed a hand over the other boy’s chest, stopping him and leaving Yamah with a puzzled face.

“Well, I was only going to invite Eiji, but what the hell, you can also come too.” Shirô said with a mischievous smile, directing his sight to an upset Yamah.

“Invite us??” Koji’s eyes grew wider; beginning to believe his weekend wouldn’t be that boring after all.

“Yeah, me and my circle of friends are going to a well-known night club of the city to have a good time, if you know what I mean” Shirô calmly explained. “I’m sure you already know what club that is, right Eiji?”

The brunette nodded, as if he already knew where to go and at what precise hour. Yamah couldn’t understand why Eiji was invited or how he seemed to know everything about it, but of course Koji and he were also invited. His curiosity was beginning to get stronger and he dared to ask Shirô what this was all about.

“And what’s the name of the night club?” the white haired boy asked, crossing his arms since he didn’t like the idea at all.

“I thought you would never ask, my curious friend” Shirô replied with a smirk on his lips. “The name is ‘Addiction’, and man it sure gets entertaining!”

Yamah was left a bit amazed by the club’s name; he could just imagine what kind of things happened inside. Alcohol, drugs and only god knew what else might happen there.

“Eiji will give you the details. Well, see you all there. Let’s go Alex” Shirô left with his friend, leaving the three youths standing there at the entrance. Suddenly, Koji felt like screaming.

“Wohoo! Finally some fun for me!” the blonde jumped with utter joy, knowing that he was about to enter one of the most infamous and prestigious nightclubs of the entire city.

“I won’t go” Yamah said, reaching for the elevator.

“Why not?!” the blonde replied following him, truly surprised that he had rejected such special invitation. But the white haired boy didn’t want to answer to that question, and just kept walking.

“Yamah…” Eiji caught up with him, and when he noticed his friend wouldn’t stop, he grabbed his right arm. “Please come with us”, the brunette tried to convince Yamah with a soft voice, almost in a pleading tone.

“I don’t want to” Yamah responded with his usual coldness when he didn’t feel comfortable, and he surely didn’t feel good in that instant. He pulled his arm away, trying to make Eiji release him. But the brunette didn’t.

“Please” Eiji asked one last time, staring at him with his bright golden eyes with an expression he knew would easily melt Yamah’s icy resistance. It looked like it was enough to make the other boy yield, as Yamah eased his body while he let out a soft sigh.

“Ok” he responded, staring at the floor and not too happy about his decision.

“Great” Eiji smiled widely as he let the other young man’s arm go. Koji also rejoiced since his best friend was also going; this was going to be most interesting night ever.

“Let’s go” the brunette said to both Koji and Yamah, and then walked towards the elevator “I’ll give you the details.”

“Why did you never told me?! It was already strange enough that you knew all those things about the nightclub this afternoon!” Yamah exclaimed, absolutely disappointed that the brunette had never mentioned that he frequented a nightclub almost every weekend. That’s why Eiji disappeared at night and didn’t return until morning of the next day, with the lame excuse of visiting some relatives near the city.

“I didn’t want you to worry” Eiji answered, as he began dressing himself with a neat long sleeved red shirt and black pants. The brunette then stared at Yamah, and could notice a hint of angriness. “I know how much you like to worry about things, so that’s why I didn’t tell you. But since Shirô also invited you, well, I had to explain the whole thing”.

“Tell me why you go there and for what?!” Yamah began the interrogation right away, sitting on the side of his bed and waiting for the brunette’s answers.

“To have fun, of course” Eiji replied with a kinky smile. In that single moment, Eiji looked so damn attractive that Yamah’s hormones began reacting instantly, making his cheeks blush furiously. He stared back, as he cleared his throat while trying to reply to that argument.

“I never thought…”

“What? That I liked this?” the brunette interrupted abruptly, making Yamah stare at him once again. “You know me so little” Eiji finally said, as he got inside the bathroom, taking one of his most expensive bottles of lotion and spraying some of the liquid over his shirt and neck.

“Because you won’t let me.” Yamah replied with a serious tone, his voice sounded like he had been betrayed in some way.

“Let’s forget about this. You should get dressed, we are already late.” the brunette suggested.

“Fine” the silver haired youth got up and took out a pair of clean dark gray pants, and changed his uniform shirt with his favorite black shirt. He was about to put his black boots on, but Eiji noticed and stopped him.

“You aren’t going to wear these, are you?”

“What’s wrong with them? Besides, I wear whatever I want” the other boy replied with annoyance.

“Ok, fine… but just remember what kind of place we are going to” Eiji replied, as he stared at Yamah’s outfit from top to bottom. “You would look better with a tie” the brunette said, as he reached with his hand into one of his drawers, taking out a shiny, black tie. He then got closer to Yamah’s neck, passing his arm around it so he could grab the tie with his other hand, rounding the other youth’s neck.

“W-what are you doing?” Yamah asked a little confused.

“Isn’t that obvious?” Eiji responded looking at the knot he was trying to make with his hands. “There.”

The white haired boy looked at the perfect knot of the tie, and then he looked at Eiji, who was smiling at him. Yamah thanked him in a subtle whisper, feeling the softness of the fabric with his hands. The brunette nodded, as he opened the door of their room. “And another thing…” Eiji stopped his friend who was about to leave the room, “… you are NOT wearing those nasty boots”.

“Woaaah” Koji said while admiring the luxuriousness of the nightclub. Even though it had a dark atmosphere, he could distinguish the black, round tables, with small blue vinyl chairs all around them. Some blue and green laser lights occasionally illuminated the dancing floor, where he could notice young people from different ages dancing at the pounding rhythm of trance music mixed by the local DJ. The bar area was also something to admire; the glasses and bottles all lined up at the back were illuminated by a blue light that made them shine before his eyes.

Yamah also felt amazed by the appeal of the place. He followed Eiji, who walked towards a specific direction knowing exactly where to go. Yamah thought that the brunette was so used to this place that he didn’t need to wander aimlessly in search of his friends. After a short moment, the three boys approached a mildly dark spot at the corner with a rather big table compared to the rest. There, smoking and drinking, were Shirô, Alex and some other guys that Yamah couldn’t recognize in that moment.

“Ah! Good evening, gentlemen” Shirô immediately greeted them when they approached the table, sitting on the free reserved chairs that were waiting for them. “Yamah… I never thought you would come.  How Admirable” Shirô continued, raising his drink into the air as if cheering for the young man’s appearance. The silver haired boy didn’t find this amusing at all, and just crossed his arms across his chest, turning his head around.

“Please, make yourselves at home. Order some drinks, and relax my friends” Shirô motivated the newly arrived when he called the waitress, and the blonde didn’t hesitate for one moment.

“I would like a frozen margarita!” Koji ordered with enthusiasm.

“Would you like something to drink, sir?” the woman asked Yamah, who just responded with a clear ‘no, thanks’. The waitress then asked Eiji, who also denied the offering, something that Yamah never thought the brunette would reject since he liked to ‘have fun’. Shirô’s group then began talking between themselves, perhaps discussing ‘business’ affairs, Yamah guessed. The silver haired boy then took out his cigarettes and placed one in his mouth, lighting it with his Zippo.

“You should not smoke, you know?” Koji said to his friend when the waitress returned with his drink.

“You should not drink” Yamah replied as he inhaled his cigarette, exhaling a white cloud of smoke from his mouth. The blonde shrugged, not remembering the last time he drank enough to almost lose consciousness.

Time passed at an incredibly slow pace for Yamah, who was watching as the other people indulged themselves with liquor and senseless talking. Oddly enough, he couldn’t feel much hypocrisy in the atmosphere. Perhaps it was the alcohol, making people surrender to their most inner feelings and desires and not caring about what others might think in that moment. But not only alcohol; he could’ve swore that just a moment ago he saw a couple at the dancing floor, moving their bodies in an almost animalistic way, and how the male placed a small white tablet inside the girl’s mouth. He found that single scene disgusting. He sucked at his cigarette one last time before putting it out.

Eiji noticed his friend wasn’t that entertained, so he turned his body around and got closer to the silver haired youth.

“You aren’t comfortable, am I right?” the brunette asked a little concerned.

“Gee, you must be a mind reader” Yamah answered cynically, as he pulled another cigarette from his pocket and placed it in his mouth. In that moment, Eiji took the cigarette away from his lips, and tore it in half.

“What the fuck…?”

“Koji is right. It is bad for you” Eiji replied with a soft smile.

“Koji doesn’t even know what is bad for him” the silver haired youth responded, pointing at his already drunk friend with his thumb, who was trying to make some conversation with the Irish guy next to him and failing in the process.

“At least he is trying to have a good time” Eiji replied, a little upset that Yamah didn’t even want to put up a single effort to have a little fun.

“Oiii, Yamaaaah…” the blonde suddenly leaned over his friend’s shoulder, trying to get his attention.

“Hm? Koji?” Yamah had enough time to catch his friend who was about to fall from his chair, “What’s wrong?”

“I need to go to the men’s room…” Koji whispered softly into Yamah’s ear, as if he didn’t want the others to listen.

“Oh man… all right, I’ll go with you” Yamah replied, not wanting his friend to get hurt in the process of going to the bathroom and returning to his seat safely. “Eiji, I’ll be right back. By the way, where’s the men’s room?” the young man asked.

“On the other side of the bar, you can’t miss it” Eiji pointed with his finger, and Yamah nodded.

Yamah and Koji rose from their seats, and began walking towards where they were told. They got inside, and to Yamah’s surprise there weren’t any other guys present.

“Ok, do your thing” Yamah almost ordered his friend, who was having a little trouble unzipping his pants. But after a few seconds, Koji was able to do it.
Yamah was just leaning his body near the washbowls until Koji was finished, looking around at the nice decoration the room had. I never thought bathrooms could be this elegant looking, especially in a place like this one. What am I thinking; this place must get a lot of money. And with a guy like Shirô managing the drug dealing, is not a surprise.

“Yamah…” Koji asked while he washed his hands with a really serious expression on his face.

“Hn?” the silver haired youth turned his head to the right to look at his friend, who had totally changed his expression.

“Had you ever had… a girlfriend?” the blonde finished the unexpected question as he dried his hands with some disposable towels. Yamah found that question somewhat irrelevant, but still he was surprised his friend had asked him that.

“No. Never. Why?”

“That’s too bad” Koji smiled, staring at the floor with his hands resting over the counter. “Then that means you have never been kissed, right?”

What is this all about? Yamah noticed his friend was acting a little weird, but of course, it could have been because of the 5 margaritas he had just drunk. After that thought passed through his mind, Koji faced him, his hazel eyes staring at him deeply.

“Aren’t you curious?” Koji got a bit closer to him. Still, Yamah wouldn’t move from his place.

“Not really” Yamah lied. The blonde was getting closer to him, but Yamah didn’t move an inch. He thought his friend was just playing and that he would finish with some kind of joke, but Koji looked frightening serious.

“Anyway…” Koji was now standing a few inches from Yamah’s body, who still didn’t try to back up. He started to feel a bit scared when Koji began to embrace him.

“When someone wants to kiss you, they usually place their arms like this” Koji continued, as his arms surrounded his friend’s neck slowly. Yamah tried not to gasp, but he still didn’t move. He was absolutely frozen by his friend’s behavior.

“Staring into each other’s eyes…” Koji continued, doing what he just said with Yamah’s platinum eyes. Koji’s mouth was now mere inches Yamah’s lips, but the silver haired boy didn’t try to move at all. His mind lost all reason, as if entranced by Koji’s words while he half closed his eyes. His breathing became heavier when he felt how Koji’s warmth touched his skin.

“They get closer and closer, until they finally…”

“Koji…” Yamah murmured his friend’s name, knowing this was something he didn’t want to happen just now. If they had not heard that someone was trying to turn the locked doorknob they wouldn’t have stopped.

Yamah reacted in that moment. Both boys stared at the door, which was now being constantly knocked. And then, a voice called Yamah’s name.

“Yamah! Are you there?”

Eiji? The boy recognized the voice immediately. A second later, Yamah was now staring at Koji who had a puzzled face and was also looking at him. Yamah panicked. He separated from Koji’s embrace, and he placed a hand over his lips with an appalled face.

“I can’t believe what we were about to do!” the silver haired boy said with true fear in his voice.

“Yamah?” the voice at the other side of the door kept calling.

“Coming!” Yamah then approached the door, and opened it as fast as he could. Who could have locked it? Yamah then stared at Koji, who strangely didn’t appear ashamed of what he was doing. In fact, he looked like he was left disappointed. Finally, Yamah was able to open the bathroom door, and then he saw Eiji standing there, a bit worried.

“What happened?” the brunette asked, since Koji and him spent too much time inside.

“Err, nothing! I think I should leave now, I’m not feeling very well” Yamah immediately tried to hide the truth, and with some success. Koji was left there in the bathroom as both boys were immersed again in the darkness of the nightclub.

I was so close. Eiji, you’ll pay for this, the blonde thought in that moment, as he left the room with slow steps and a low head.

“O-oi! Yamah, where are you going?” the brunette ran after his friend who was heading for the exit.

“You heard me, I’m going home!” Yamah moved as fast as he could, walking through the crowd, sometimes pushing other people so he could get out sooner.

“Yamah, wait!”

The silver-haired boy didn’t stop. He had finally got out of the nightclub, panting while his heart palpitated with strength after what just happened moments ago. He continued walking; crossing the street until Eiji finally reached him.

“Yamah!”

“Leave me alone!” the other youth responded agitated. But he stopped at the other side of the street, and Eiji was able to get closer to him. The brunette noticed his friend was frightened in some way, but what could have scared him like this? Why won’t you tell me, Yamah?

“Yamah… what’s wrong?” Eiji tried to make his friend vent his worries by talking, but it would be a harsh task knowing the white haired boy’s usual reactions.

“I’m leaving” Yamah started walking again, escaping from Eiji.

“By yourself? At least call a taxi” the brunette said as he tried to make his friend understand it was dangerous to leave walking in the night.

“Don’t tell me what to do. I know I have to call a cab, ok?” Yamah stared at the brunette with a weak expression in his eyes. The young man then walked some more until he reached a crowded street and then he raised his hand when a taxi passed by. The car stopped, and Yamah got inside rapidly.

“Let me go with you” Eiji said before Yamah could close the door of the car.

“I’ll see you tomorrow” were the other youth’s last words before closing the door and ordering the taxi driver to leave. Eiji was left there alone, as he watched how the car disappeared around one corner.

But the brunette was still worried. What could have happened inside the bathroom? What did Koji say to Yamah to disturb him like this? Eiji started to walk again, returning to the nightclub, as he endlessly tried to figure out what happened in the time Yamah was with Koji inside the bathroom. He didn’t want to return to the dorms just yet, and he thought it was better to leave Yamah alone for the night. Eiji entered the nightclub once again, and the doors of the main entrance closed slowly behind his back.
