CG COLORING TUTORIAL

Adobe Photoshop 7 & CS

The all time favorite, Adobe Photoshop has been considered THE mother of all coloring programs between digital artists around the world. Most of us started to make CGs with this program, and even though it looks complicated at first sight, I consider it one of the most comprehensable and reliable coloring / editing program that I've ever known.

Now, let's start!

YOU NEED:
- Adobe Photoshop 7 or higher
- Scanned drawing
- A Tablet is recommended, although you can also use your mouse.

First, a little introduction to Photoshop 7. Below I put a map of how Photoshop 7 looks like and some brief explanations of its tools.

1
TOOLS. The window where you will find all Photoshop tools, and it also shows your foreground and background colors.
2
WORKSPACE. You could also call it the 'canvas'.
3
SWATCHES. This is Photoshop's palette of colors. You can switch to Color Picker and Styles windows in the same window.
4
HISTORY. Where all your actions are 'recorded'. If you made a mistake, you can go a few steps back with this window.
5
LAYERS. This is what makes your coloring in Photoshop easier! Create layers to color and set them to your conveniences

These are the basic windows, without counting the filters, options and other effects Photoshop has. Click now on step 1 and let the coloring begin!
