THE MAKING OF: Threatening, Brayden illustration
This is just a step-by-step of the making of this Brayden illustration. I must say is one of my favorites now ^_^
WEAPONS OF CHOICE :
1. SKETCHING / INKING

A very rough sketch is done first with openCanvas 4, where I study the posibilities of the pose I want to do. Once I am satisfied with the pose, I proceed to detail the sketch. The Intuos3 tablet makes it so much easier I must say! |

Detailing with openCanvas 4 is my best choice, the program has the best pencil emulator ever, and I even added shading so I can have an idea of how it might look in the end. Needless to say, Brayden is looking as hotly threatening as any dogboy could be. |

Once finished, I open the sketch in Adobe Photoshop CS and convert the greyscale into cyan monochromes. You can do this when you need to ink something, in my case, I will use ComicWorks to do the inking. This technique also works when you want to ink traditionally after drawing a digital sketch. Just print it, and ink over the cyan tones. When you scan again in greyscale or bitmap mode, the blue will completely disappear! |

Inking with ComicWorks is my favorite thing to do. The smooth stylus feature works wonderfully with the wacom tablet, and you can have better results if you use the optional stroke nib of the wacom pen. Now I have a clean drawing to start the coloring. |
